Homes across the country and the world come alive during the festive season, when all the Christmas lights displays are turned on, filling the neighbourhoods with brightly coloured lights and displays as far as the eye can see. Jordan Springs’ residents, the Burns family, are ready for their popular display to shine for a seventh straight year, whilst raising money for charity.

The Fleet Avenue display, which had its first full light up for the season on the 28th November, will continue every night from 8pm until the end of December.

“The lights display has been running since we moved into Jordan Springs on Christmas in 2013. We received the keys to our house a few days before Christmas that year, but still managed to have our lights up” explained Robert Burns to the Jordan Springs Gazette.

This year, the Burns family lights display will be supporting. Make-A-Wish® Australia. Make-A-Wish® Australia is a charity that assists with making wishes come true for children with critical illnesses.
2020 has been a tough year for us all and Robert hopes that their display will help bring some much-needed cheer to the local community.

“When you drive past our house, you will see the entire roof and gardens lit up with over 30 sets of lights used. We are planning to have a real Christmas tree in the front yard too” he said.

So, what is it that Robert and the Burns family enjoy so much about this time of year?

“For us, we absolutely love seeing the kids have fun and putting smiles on their faces when they see the lights. We have three children ourselves and the excitement that it brings is all worth it” smiled Robert.
