8-year-old Zoey Hawke is not your average kidpreneur. The local student from Jordan Springs, sadly lost her friend Kellie to breast cancer last year. As a way of wanting to help and give back, she started her own business ‘Crafting for Kellie by Zoey Hawke’, making handmade necklaces and bracelets and raising money for breast cancer research and awareness.

Zoey’s necklaces and bracelets can be purchased with a donation of your choice and there are no prices. 100% of the donations given for her jewellery will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

She has already handmade over 100 items and raised over $1,200 for breast cancer research. This includes $300 that was raised in just half an hour at a charity event last year!

Adding to this, Zoey also had her long hair cut off in June last year to help make wigs for kids with cancer.

This year, she has plans to raise further funds to help find a cure for breast cancer and her family are looking to assist with a car rally team. Zoey is also continuing to sell her bracelets and necklaces through her business Facebook page.

“When Zoey started her business, Crafting for Kellie by Zoey Hawke, she insisted on making everything herself without any help. This has been her project and she has been driven by this” said Karia Hawke, Zoey’s mum to the Jordan Springs Gazette.

“We are incredibly proud of Zoey. She’s a kind and sharing kid that wants to help others. We have no doubt she will make a difference in her lifetime” ended Karia.
