Oran Park is set to become pink, thanks to the local charity event, Pink Up Oran Park in October, with much needed funds being raised for the McGrath Foundation.
A concert is currently being organised to take place on Friday 11th October at Camden Civic Centre with a performance by 2017 The Voice Winner and Macarthur’s own Alfie Arcuri. This will be followed by closing ceremony plans, which are underway for Sunday 27th October in Oran Park.
“The McGrath Foundation contacted myself and asked if I could do this, due to my involvement with the local community. That’s when we decided to organise Pink Up Oran Park in October” said Event Organiser Sudha Sudharshan to the Oran Park Gazette.
The Macarthur event has already gathered support from the local community, with $10 raffle tickets being sold for the fundraiser. Some of the prizes on offer in the raffle include round trip flights to Bali for two donated by Space Real Estate, decking or pergola voucher donated by Emcorp Homes and valued at $3,000 and a UFC Gregory Hills One Year Membership donated by UFC Gregory Hills and valued at $1,600. The raffle tickets are available at Space Real Estate and Donut King in Oran Park.
You may have also seen the two pink vehicles around the area, that are being used to promote the event.
“Our goal for Pink Up Oran Park in October is to make our locals aware of what the McGrath Foundation is doing for breast cancer patients and to raise funds so that the Foundation can hire more nurses to care for more patients” ended Sudha.
