Love is in the air, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner.

Locals Vickey and Nick Scicluna celebrate an amazing 55 years of marriage this year. The loving couple exchanged vows on the 19th October in 1968 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Toongabbie.

It was a game of soccer at Quakers Hill in 1965 where they would meet.

The loving couple have called Llandilo home since 1972, when the town was much different.

They have a devoted family that they love and adore, with 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

“Family means having someone to love you unconditionally. Family is loving and supporting one another. They represent the foundation of love and are there for you always. We are family” agreed Vickey and Nick.

Going through life with your partner of over 50 years, there’s bound to be plenty of laughs.

“What makes us laugh is when we both think that we are right. Also, when we both go to say the same thing at the same time and we burst out laughing!” they both said.

What’s the secret to a long and happy marriage?

“Trust, honesty, and love. Always being there for each other, through good times and bad times. We work as a team” they ended. Valentine’s Day is Tuesday 14th February 2023.
