Jordan Springs Cricket Club have taken to the pitch for the 2022-23 Summer season, beginning last month. The popular local club will feature in their 4th season in the Penrith competition.

This season will see 13 Junior teams and 2 Senior teams compete for the club. The Juniors have grown by 4 teams, after fielding 9 teams last Summer. This is amazing news with the sport expanding for the younger players.

Despite the wet weather that hampered the previous competition, the club was still able to produce some highlights.

This included 4 teams being crowned Premiers, which were the Under 10’s, Under 11’s and Under 13’s in the Juniors and Third Grade in the Seniors.

Four Junior teams, Under 10’s, Under 11’s, Under 12 and Under 13’s were also treated to a tour of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) whilst representing Jordan Springs Cricket Club earlier this year.

“After the disruptions of the last couple of seasons, we are very much looking forward to a full season ahead with good weather. The competitions look great, and we will have some strong teams that will be ready to win in all grades” said Sunil Chhabra of Jordan Springs Cricket Club.

An exciting addition to the club’s cricket calendar this year will be the tennis ball tournament, slated for November.

The intraclub competition will be played on Friday and Saturday nights under lights. The use of a softer ball will see no safety gear needed and more players participating. Information will be available on social media later in the year.

“We have some awesome plans ahead for the season. Watch this space” Sunil smiled.

They are still looking for new players for the 2022-23 Summer season. Local businesses wanting to sponsor the club are also welcome.
