23-year-old Jordan Tavita of Oran Park made it to the finals of this year’s The Voice.
Choosing to sing Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson in the blind auditions, Jordan had all four coaches turn their chairs to a standing ovation. He later chose Guy Sebastian as his coach, joining Team Guy.
Amazingly, this was also Jordan’s first experience singing to an audience.
“This whole experience has definitely been life changing. I never thought I could do something like this. It was exhilarating. It has been so much fun being able to sing in front of four very talented singers” said Jordan to the Oran Park Gazette.
Jordan, who is the youngest of five children, was brought up in church where he found his voice at a young age. As a call centre worker by day, it is not uncommon to find him singing between calls.
Back home, Jordan enjoys getting out and about in the many parks that Oran Park has to offer. It is here that he finds himself relaxing and clearing his head. His favourite local place to dine at is The Grid Café and Restaurant.
“It’s a great place to go for breakfast. With my parents living in Brisbane, I go there when my family come to visit me” he replied.
He also loves to cook for his large, traditional family when he has the chance.
Jordan is thankful for all the support he has received since being on The Voice.
“Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported me on my journey. I have nothing but gratitude for all of you. I would like to be a role model for the younger generation and someone to look up to. Don’t be afraid to follow your dreams” Jordan smiled.
