The 400 best inventions, designs, performances, writings, and artworks of 2020 HSC students are on display across five exhibitions for the public to enjoy.
Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith is celebrating the achievements of five local students that are on display in creative arts and design exhibition over the coming months.
Stuart Ayres said this is a huge achievement to feature alongside the best of students of 2020 within the events of ARTEXPRESS in metro, regional and online galleries, and Shape 2020.
“This is such a great achievement and I hope that the community and schools take a moment to look at this year’s exhibition and celebrate Ashton Bennett, Kaleb Borkowski-Uphill, Payton Sibary, Jinuki Kasturi and Connor Burke.
“These students were able to excel in unprecedented challenges and disruptions throughout the year” Stuart Ayres said.
The local students are:
Ashton Bennett – Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School
Kaleb Borkowski-Uphill – St Dominic’s College
Payton Sibary – Penola Catholic College Emu Plains
Jinuki Kasturi – Penrith High School
Connor Burke – Jamison High School
Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said she was impressed at the level of work achieved.
“The works on display across these exhibitions is mature, thoughtful and highlights the tremendous capacity for critical thinking, innovation and creativity in NSW schools.
“Those experiences from last year have been reflected in the creative and design work – whether that be a quilt depicting arid drought landscapes, or a portable oxygen device particularly poignant in the context of COVID-19, or an innovative new design to assist blind and visually impaired community members” Ms Mitchell said.
ARTEXPRESS is now showing at metro and regional galleries in NSW and features the work of more than 270 Visual Arts students across the state.
OnSTAGE, CALLBACK and ENCORE will be available online this year, giving all schools across the State access to the depth and breadth of talent from 66 students in HSC Drama, Dance and Music, respectively.
