Local rock band The Jestas recently performed at Silverdale Shopping Centre, entertaining the community with a live performance, whilst raising funds for the Rural Fire Service.
Despite the late passing storm, the talented teenage band continued with their performance and raised $562.20 for Silverdale RFS from passers-by, shop staff and diehard Jestas fans for the gold coin concert.
“It was a free performance for everybody to enjoy, so the band thought why not help raise some money. Small events like this are important to local communities as they remind people that these charities and volunteer services are out there and really do need support” said Anthony Gerhard, band representative of The Jestas.
The Jestas are made up of four members which are Ben Wilson on rhythm guitar, Caitlyn Kitchin on drums/vocals, Jesse Gerhard on lead guitar/vocals and Rafaela Safadi on bass guitar/vocals.
The band presented the valuable donation to Silverdale RFS at their monthly meeting on Monday 14th October.
“I’m sure this won’t be the last fundraiser The Jestas organise. They had so much fun, added to the buzz of helping a good cause. These kids would do this every weekend if they could” smiled Anthony.
On the 24th November, The Jestas will be donating their time in a 3-hour performance at the Wallacia Hotel for The Bikers Hand, who are a riders charity group dedicated to helping all in need.
