Warragamba Anzac Committee would like to invite everyone to Warragamba Memorial Park on Anzac Day, Thursday 25th April, to honour our fallen men and women.
The Anzac Day March will assemble at the Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre at 10:30am to 10:45am to be ready to march at 11:00am. This year will also mark the first Anzac Day with the bronze statue at Warragamba Memorial Park.
Blacktown City Pipe Band will be leading the March. Peter Paki will be singing the New Zealand National Anthem, whilst the choirs from Caroline Chisholm College and St Dominic’s College will perform the Australian National Anthem. Local Council dignitaries will also be joining the service.
This Anzac Day will be the unveiling of the new Allied Wall. Anyone wishing to place a plaque can do so at a cost of $50. They can be ordered by contacting Lauren Hayden at Warragamba Workers Club on 4774 1211.
If you would like to lay a wreath on the day, please feel free to do so.
After the Anzac Day Service, everyone is invited back to Warragamba Workers Club to listen to some great tunes from local singer Brian Gillett. The Dam Riders will be putting on a great BBQ and the Club restaurant will also be opened.
Warragamba Anzac Committee will have raffles to be won and will be selling Anzac t-shirts for $15 each. Handmade poppies by our local knitting ladies will be available for purchase.
Warragamba Anzac Committee have a huge year ahead with great ideas to better the Memorial Park. With help from our local Council, businesses and members of the public, they hope to achieve this.
