St Benedict’s Catholic College is a co-educational Catholic High School in the Benedictine tradition with an expected enrolment of 1020 in 2020; in keeping with our Positive Education framework we pride ourselves on being a school where students, in the words of St Benedict, have “Something to Strive for, and Nothing to Run From”. Surprisingly for many, the College will be celebrating 10 years of providing Catholic Education in 2020. The final stage of the building programme saw the opening of a modern Creative and Performing Arts Centre opened this year.

The results of our third HSC cohort were outstanding with over 7% of students gaining a Band 6 in one or more subjects. In our three years our first groups of students have been on the Premier’s Merit List, many students on the Distinguished Achievers lists across a range of subjects; student’s projects have been chosen for the Shape (TAS) Showcase. Last year we had over 80% of our students in Bands 4-6, the best performance amongst the systemic Catholic Schools and amongst the best performing schools in any sector locally.

The College has joined the Positive Education Schools Network and is beginning a journey with parents, staff and students, looking at a strengths-based philosophy of education over the next few years.

Our unique Leadership Diploma is offered in Years 9-11 and involves students participating in a ROSA accredited programme which encourages students to participate in the total life of the school: in co-curricular activities, social action activities, and participate in the Outdoor Education Programme in a wilderness setting.
