The people and community of Oran Park have welcomed a new café to the area, with The Grid Café and Restaurant, formerly Oran Park Town Café, reopening with a fresh and modern look and menu last month.
Owners Aron Johnson and Krishna Bhattarai first took over the successful café in July last year. The new name, which pays tribute to the rich motorsport history of the local area, was part of a rebrand that included interior renovations and a new menu.
“We’re very proud of The Grid Café and Restaurant. Our name reflects the racing tradition of Oran Park. We’ve undergone renovations and now have a new menu, including a dinner menu for Friday and Saturday nights”, said Co-Owner Aron.
The cuisine is Modern Australian and includes new healthy options and a few old favourites. The juices and smoothies are already proving popular with their customers.
With 35 years of combined experience as Chefs, Aron and Krishna previously worked at Otto in Wooloomooloo. Aron is also a Michelin Star Chef, having received the honour 15 years ago whilst working at Il Convivio in Rome, Italy.
Phase two of the renovations have been planned, with a lounge area ideal for evening dining to be made.
“We’re here and we invite locals to come and visit us. Food is our friend” beamed Aron.
The Grid Café and Restaurant is located at 5 Peter Brock Drive in Oran Park. Their phone number is 02 9043 5624. For more information, visit them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thegridcafeau, on Instagram @thegridcafeau or their soon-to-be website www.thegridcafe.com.au.
